       Welcome to
The Children's Room!

            Meet Rachel!
Our New Children's and Youth Services Librarian!

Rachel Silverman (Miss Rachel) has joined the staff of the Millis Public Library and is looking forward to meeting everyone.  Rachel has a B.A. in Psychology from Wesleyan University, and received her Master's Degree in Library Science from St. John's University in New York.

Rachel is no stranger to Children's and YA literature; she was a Children's Librarian at several libraries in Queens, New York, interned at the Donnell Library Young Adult Center, and also worked for Barnes and Nobles as a lead bookseller for several years.

Please do stop in and say "hello" to Rachel--or stop in for a storytime or just to chat!

The Children's Room!

The Children's Room is a place for children to read, play, learn and grow.  It offers a collection of picture books, board books, beginning readers, chapter books, graphic novels, classic and contemporary fiction and non-fiction for children birth through 6th grade.

Media--movies, audiobooks, book/audio kits and magazines are also available for check-out!

 Library Cards!

Children may acquire their own Library card at the age of five.  With their new Library Card, children will receive a Caribiner Keychain!  The compass will always help them find their way back to the Millis Library!

Are you in Fourth, Fifth or Sixth Grade?

Sign up to read FIVE or more of the books* nominated for for the Massachusetts Children's Book Awards! You'll get to vote for your favorites and you'll get invited to attend a PIZZA PARTY at the Millis Public Library in April after the state winners are announced!

*Books with BLUE DOTS are on the list.  The list  and sign up sheet are located across from the Circ Desk,  If you have any questions, please contact Rachel at 508-376-8282.
